About

Welcome to the DC Coalition of Disability Service Providers

The DC Coalition of Disability Service Providers is a professional organization that provides support and services, consistent with choice, to people with intellectual and other disabilities.  The DC Coalition advocates for the most promising practices in the industry and serves its members by ensuring continuing progress toward greater quality of life for those with intellectual disabilities and other disabilities who reside in and around the greater Washington, D.C. area.

The DC Coalition was founded in the early 1970’s and currently represents 54 members, which in turn support over 2,200 persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities and employ over 4,700 staff, many of whom are residents of the District of Columbia. The Coalition members provide residential, day, employment, in-home and other waiver services and supports to the citizens from the District, assisting these residents in becoming more connected to our community.

Our Mission

Empowering a diverse and dynamic membership to enhance meaningful community engagement for persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities

We hope that you will join the DC Coalition in sharing its vision for a more connected community that advocates on behalf of its members and those persons receiving supports.
