Friday Feature #6: DSP Appreciation Week
To celebrate Direct Support Professionals Appreciation Week, the DC Coalition would like to bring attention to several different initiatives our member organizations have developed to thank their hardworking DSPs. DSPs have worked tirelessly on the frontlines during this pandemic to continue providing the highest quality of care. We take this week to celebrate their achievements and award their accomplishments.
St. John’s Community Services: All SJCS-DC employees received a financial bonus to thank them for their service as a DSP. Additionally, they have raffles happening all month giving away different types of technology equipment including a TV, and iPad, a google home set and an Amazon “Alexa”. My Own Place: This Saturday, My Own Place hosted a curbside/ drive-by visit where DSPs picked up lunch, dessert, a goodie bag filled with hand sanitizer, masks, lip balm and more, and a raffle ticket for a chance at winning one of 25 door prizes via a zoom party drawing. The drive-by included a banner thanking the DSPs, music and a great photo opportunity.
RCM of Washington: RCM hosted daily trivia on the company, COVID protocol, and general fun questions. They also included a few essay questions such as why do you love being a DSP and why do you love working at RCM? Winners are chosen at random and receive fun prizes and gift cards. They are also giving out gift bags and T-shirts and delivering them to the homes. Community Multi-Services: Community Multi-Services, Inc. planned a fun Raffle for their DSPs this past Friday.
Every DSP received a Raffle Ticket which made them eligible to win Gift Certificates for First, Second or Third Prize.
