The DC Coalition, along with the DC DDS, Quality Trust and APSE DC joined forces to host a its annual Direct Support Professional conference on Employment. The Conference entitled, “Employment is Everyone’s Business,” consisted of a day-long educational program including, two plenary sessions and participant choices of six breakout sessions as well as an opportunity to reflect both personally and as a group on the lessons learned from the day.
Thomas Mangrum from Project ACTION! kicked off the event which included personal stories from the White House’s Office of Public Engagement, Maria Town; and recognition of the critical role of DSPs in the District from newly-appointed DC DDS Director, Andrew Reese and by DC DDA Deputy Director, Jared Morris.
