DOL Overtime Concerns Presented to Federal Leaders

On June 14th, the American Network of Community Options and Resources (ANCOR) organized members to advocate to US Congressional and Senatorial leaders about the potential impact that the coming Dept. of Labor overtime standards will have upon Medicaid-funded human service providers.   Arthur Ginsberg, President and CEO of Community Residences, along with Lisa Poe, CEO of Richmond Residential Services and Jennifer Fidura, CEO of the Virginia Network of Private Providers met with the legislative staff for VA Senators Mark Warner and Tim Kaine to discuss the challenges facing providers of disability services due to our financial constraints and our dependence on fixed Medicaid rates.  Emphasis was placed on the need assistance with expanding the limited Medicaid reimbursement.  New overtime rules will go into effect on December 1, 2016 with a new exempt status threshold of $47,476/yr.
